Newsletter

The C&C Newsletter is mailed out several times each year to paid up C&C Members. But a printed copy is also sent free to anybody who sends us an SAE - actually we use our own computer addressed envelopes so we really prefer you to send just a couple of loose stamps. In practical terms we mail them out at our expense when folk phone us up and it seems a good way of answering their questions. We no longer hand out copies of the Newsletter at our swims but usually enclose them when mailing out our Guide Books to buyers.

The Newsletter also incorporates SPOTLIGHT which is a list of dates and events which are open to visiting naturists. Nearly all naturist activities and events are organised by CLUBS but what many new naturists fail to realise is there are many different sorts of club - the usual thing with new naturists is to imagine that all clubs are a few acres of land behind a high hedge. In fact they vary widely. Many nuddies tell me that they are "not clubby people" but they quite happily go along to the swimming or sauna events organised by this club or that club.

So the SPOTLIGHT lists those events where there is a genuine welcome to visitors from outside. After all there is absolutely no point in us publicising the fact that Sunny Bums Sun Club is having a sauna night if that event is restricted only to Sunny Bums Members. (And don't misunderstand our stance - we have no objection at all to clubs organising events which are strictly for their own members.) So if you think you'd like to get around to a few naturist activities (especially in winter when outdoor naturism is restricted by the weather) then do check out the dates on SPOTLIGHT . But a word of warning! A few naturists have the idea that SPOTLIGHT is just published "once a year". It is not! The details of SPOTLIGHT are changed more or less every day as groups and clubs let me know about their events. We only print SPOTLIGHT about six times a year though, sometimes using one sheet of paper just to look at the coming month, and sometimes we give all the dates we have right through the year - in Spring for example we like to set out dates right through all the summer so you can plan well ahead. But that does not mean that SPOTLIGHT is carved in stone - other events are added as time goes by.

You can get a SPOTLIGHT at any time from the C&C Office by sending a couple of loose stamps. We do not guarantee the latest news will be posted here on this site - many visitors to the site are idiots who we wouldn't want at our events anyway (this probably does not apply to you if you've taken the trouble to read this far) and also we're geared up to providing the PRINTED word (mailed out with those quaint but still very popular items called envelopes and stamps!). You're very welcome to a hard copy - just ask us for one.

If you are an organiser of an event, regular or occasional, and you want to have it publicised for free in SPOTLIGHT just pick up the phone and speak to David Martin at C&C.

And if you are not a swimmer or water person do bear in mind that most of the events held at swimming pools are really social events - naturists do not usually spend all night swimming lengths, instead they swim a bit and chat a bit, enjoy a sauna or jacuzzi and very often a drink too.

Our newsletter is mailed direct to each and every C&C Member - yup we use good old fashioned snail mail - it is still the way most folk prefer their stuff. A copy is posted here on the website the same day that we mail out to our Members - hopefully. You're welcome to the information but bear in mind it is primarily  for our Members. We want to make it easy for new beginners to get started in naturism but we no longer hold our doors quite as wide open as we used to. Perhaps we're getting grumpy (hundreds will tell you that isn't so) but we are fed up of those people (couples or singles) who go to naturist events week after week but refuse to join up with or support a club somewhere. Clubs vary and we know that some of you "hate clubs" but they ain't all the same and it is only with the support of regular club members that many events manage to keep going. The latest "fad" amongst some internet naturists seems to be to spread the idea that anybody should be able to walk in to any naturist event anywhere just by showing drivers ID - well the naturist world has never been like that and it never will be. A few commercial places do indeed operate by just opening the door and taking in "any paying customer" (they all of course rightly reserve the right of admission) but most naturist get togethers are a sociable group of friends - although not every naturist will be best friends with every other naturist.

If you are a couple and hold a current membership card to your own club then you'll be welcome to just turn up and you'll get no fuss admission at any C&C event (unless space is restricted and tickets are being sold in advance). Our club does not restrict or discriminate against our own C&C single Members but singles from other clubs ought to check with us by phone whether we will let them in - we have no wish to "swamp" our events with a high number of single guys from other clubs. We have a number of single guys (and couples) who are staunch supporters of their own local club and who also enjoy our events - we don't expect them to pay an annual sub for Coast & Country as well so we do issue a "Regular Supporters Passport" to some regulars who are not C&C Members and they are treated just as we treat our own Members (except they don't always get every newsletter but they would get any urgent news posted to them.)

If you're new to naturism or if you're a holiday visitor to our area then we'll be glad to post you  a complimentary guest pass so you can come along and enjoy a Coast & Country event.

The latest newsletters are here ............. maybe!
